CN 2-8-0 #1874 - Canadian National
Sad sight to see this 2-8-0 Consolidation sitting in the CN scrap line. Built by the Canadian Locomotive Company in 1903 as an ICR locomotive (unknown number). In 1913, it was renumbered CGR #74 and later renumbered CN 1874 in 1919. Its serial number was 541 and class M-4-f. The loco was finally retired and scrapped in June if 1939. This may very well be the last photo that was taken of it before the scrapper's torch. No photographer, location or exact date was given for the photo. Not sure why the RRPA database will not allow me to add this loco to the data base - hence the blank listing under locomotives.
