Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near 14th Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on 19 December 1953. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9483, an FF-20 built by Fairbanks-Morse in November of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in December of 1963 after just 15 years of service. The road numbers of the Baldwin and American Locomotive products pictured here are not recorded. Photo via Bob Hanson. ("Garr254" A; #6 of 6) |
