After 33 years of dedicated service, MILW 2-8-2 Mikado #515 now sits in the scrap line at the Bensenville yard. Built by Baldwin in September of 1920 as MILW #8215, it was renumbered #515 in June of 1938. The loco was retired in October of 1953 to await the scrapper's torch. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine wt of 287,600 lb, tractive effort of 54,723 lb. No photographer was listed. |
