A shot of NJT 4636 PRR and NJT 4640 Retro Scheme. The Retro Scheme pays homage to NJ Transit 's chevron or commonly known as "Disco Stripe" This locomotive was buiult by Bombadier in teh 2000's, repainted and decaled in August 2023 by NJ Transit Rail Operations. Tom Beckett General I know they did this for the photographers-in practice, the PRR/PC/NJT rarely, if ever, used two GG 1's out of New York. My recall is always one engine, which came off here, traded for E's. The trains could be big, too, some were over 12 cars. The G's had no problem running them at speed. Watching the engine change here was a fun thing, though the working railroaders probably didn't see it that way, especially if the weather was not optimal. Steve Coraggio General Tom, you are correct one GG 1 was sued on the train from NYC, and that electric would come off at South Amboy, .I rememeb the engine change heer as a kid never took pictures only remember it.
