AHC. Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1929. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3672, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during June of 1918 and retired in September of 1952 after 34 years of faithful service. It's just departed the Kittanning Point Passenger Station at 4:20 with local train #685 on its daily run up the Allegheny Mountains from Altoona to Pittsburgh. Note the semaphore signals. |
