| A KCS trio of a GP40-2, F7(A) Slug, and GP40, drag a freight across Essen Lane on their way from Shreveport to New Orleans. The train is either a #53 or #55(most likely) on the the "New Orleans Sub" of the "Louisiana & Arkansas Division" for the KCS. Train 55 usually had chemical empties returning to Baton Rouge. It also carried piggybacks. (53 ran the same route, but to Family Lines' Gentilly Yard) KCS 799 was part of a two unit order delivered August 1979, making it five years old in this shot. |
