| For years after the merger into Soo Line, MILW 489 kept going in the Twin Cities in full Milw paint, long after the other units had been turned into 'bandits'. Word amoungst RR crews was that the local ex Milw guys just made sure that 489 never made it to the paint shop. This was shot thru the all-weather window of our second unit, an SD18, while on train MKSSA. |
