MP F7A 857 |
Description: |
Missouri Pacific F7A 857 found itself surrounded by SW8's outside the diesel shop at Avondale Yard. All of the locomotives had been built for the T&P and were in familiar territory. The 857 was briefly renumbered 1857 to make way for a new GP38-2, and it was retired in April 1973. The switchers lasted until 1979-1981, when they were remanufactured into slugs.
