Description:  Blackhawk. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by William D. Volkmer that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, on 7 October 1962. Photo Caption: "RF-16, Pennsylvania Number 9633. Re-designed by Alco. Enola, Pa. Oct. 7, 1962." Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9633 and another "Shark" whose road number is not recorded. #9633 ~ originally numbered "9726" ~ was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as a BF-16 in March of 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. In 1959, it was rebuilt with a 1,800 horsepower engine by the American Locomotive Company and renumbered "9633" ~ Class ABF-18. It was retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Baldwins in Action ~ On North-Eastern Railroads" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (892-47).

Prominent here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9633 and another "Shark" whose road number is not recorded. #9633 was built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton as BF-16 number "9726" in March of 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. In 1959, it was rebuilt with a 1,800 horsepower engine by the American Locomotive Company and renumbered "9633" ~ Class ABF-18. It was retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. Also visible at the left are two unidentified "AF" Class units and the now-obsolete coaling tipple. Produced and distributed by FJC Products of Newport, Delaware.
