Description:
Derailment. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 21 May 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #7057, #7197-B, #7042, and #2261. All were built by EMD. #7057, #7197-B and #7042 are EFS-17M's and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7057 was built in 1956, #7197-B was built in 1957, while #7042 was built in 1955. #2261 is an EF-25 built in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They have just come down the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve with a 57-car TrucTrain and are passing the derailment site with caution. The caboose is #477954. Visible in the background (L to R) are the PRR Test Plant Building and the 17th Street Bridge. (#11 of 14)

Description:
17th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 04 July 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2261, #2540, #2237, #2312, and #2413. #2261 is an EF-25 built by EMD in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2540 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2237 is an EF-22 built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #2312 is an EF-25 built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2413 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. They are pulling a 93-car TrucTrain past ALTO Tower on their way to Enola and points East with caboose #477550. The eastern slopes of the Allegheny Mountains dominate the horizon.

They are about to pass under four-track Signal Bridge #2417/2418 with a 99-car westbound mixed-cargo freight train and N-8 caboose #478151. Bringing-up the rear are "pushers" #6500 and #6306.
