Description:  Malinowski. Here is duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Robert R. Malinoski that was taken near Newport, Pennsylvania, on 11 October 1956. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9724 and a "Shark" B-unit whose number is not recorded. Both were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. #9724 is a BF-16 built in March of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. They are pulling a train of empty hopper cars westbound along the eastward-flowing Juniata River.

Description:  12th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 24 September 1962. Shown here are PRR engines #2005, #9705-B, and #9724. All were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. #2005 and #9724 are BF-16's built in 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower each. #9705-B is a BF-15A built in 1950 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. They are stopped in front of the Altoona Passenger Station, while the crew awaits permission to proceed up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West..

Description:  FSF. Here is the first of two duplicate 35mm color slides via Al Chione that were taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in August of 1964. The photographer is not identified. At center-left are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9724 and a "BF" Class B-unit whose road number is not recorded. #9724 is a BF-16 constructed by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in March of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966. At center-right are PRR engine #2213 and three more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #2213 is an EF-22 built in March of 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. Both trains have changed engine and train crews, and await movement orders to proceed up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. At the far left are several passenger cars parked next to the PRR's largely-defunct Passenger Car Shops. Photo taken from the 4th Street Footbridge. ("PrrFan18n")
