Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9534 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9534 is an EF-15 constructed in September of 1948 and retired in October of 1967 after just 19 years of revenue service. In this context, this A-B-A set is pulling a mixed-cargo freight train around the Curve and down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. |
