Description:  Volkmer. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by William D. Volkmer that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, in June of 1962. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9521 and another "EF" Class unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9521 is an EF-15 constructed in May of 1948 and retired in February of 1963 after just 15 years of revenue service.

Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9521 and three more "EF" Class units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9521 is an EF-15 constructed in May of 1948 and retired in February of 1963 after just 15 years of revenue service. In this context, this A-B-B-A set is about to pass under the 8th Street in Juniata with an iron-ore train on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to the steel mills of Pittsburgh. ("PrrFan18n")
