A lone Canadian National 2-8-2 Mikado #3470 was caught backing up near an unidentified rail station. Note the conductor riding on the side of the tender as the engineer looks backward. History - Built by Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW), 1913, nee-GTR 565 to CN 3470 in 1923 Specs - serial #53935, class S-1-f, 63" drivers, 175 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 272,100 lb, tractive effort of 51,638 lb. The loco was scrapped in August of 1961. No date, location or photographer was given for the photo. |
