This is one of the places old passenger cars went to die in the MSP area in the late 70s and early 80s. Many of these cars were in the downtown St. Paul depot until they were moved to this small yard on the M&D line in White Bear Lake. There were dozens of them that I am sure were scrapped not too long after these pictures were taken. |

When I walked up on this scene, I thought of all the hard work and effort that went into creating our railroads ending up in a heaping mess of scrap.
