This is a fairly nice group of older photos of Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific 2-8-2 Mikados all built by Alco-Brooks in September of 1923.

Description:
Built by Alco-Brooks in September of 1923, CRIP 2-8-2 Mikado type #2673 was a solid performer in the Rock Island roster. Specs - K-64 class, 63" drivers, 200psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine wt of 338,200 lb, and tractive effort of 63,467 lb. With a booster added in 1931, it increased the te by 10,460 lb and with a stoker added, the weight was 347,100 lb. After nearly 29 years of service, the loco was retired and sold for scrap in May of 1952. R. H. Carlson took this photo.

Specs - K-64 class, 63" drivers, 200psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine wt of 338,200 lb, and tractive effort of 63,467 lb. With a booster added in 1931, it increased the te by 10,460 lb and with a stoker added, the weight was 347,100 lb. After nearly 29 years of service, the loco was retired and sold for scrap in July of 1952. no date or location was givne but the photo was taken by James B Cunningham.

Interesting discrepancy on this loco. According to the Alco records, this loco was sold for scrap in January of 1952. However, this photo taken by Arthur B.
