Title:  C&O 2716
Description:  The Clinchfield RR leased the C&O 2716 briefly. A contractor at Marion, NC started a rebuild. Not long after this photo was taken, the CRR manager was fired and the excursion program ended, along with this rebuild. The engine was later rebuilt by the Southern.

Description:  2716 will ease forward a few feet to clear the wye switch and begin the process of backing around the Opelika Wye. After turning the power the crew will rejoin the train's consist, wyed during the coaling operation, and sitting directly behind the tender on the main track. 2716 will make an early evening arrival back at Birmingham's Terminal Station

Description:  The conductor is protecting the shove move around the east leg of the Opelika wye as the power is being turned for its trip back to Birmingham. The excursion train consist is to the left and the bridge in the distance crosses over the Western Railway of Alabama. 2716 will access WofA tracks to get to the east leg of the Opelika wye. The building on the left is the WofA freight house and just to the left of it is the crossing between the Southern Railway and Western Railway of Alabama. The former Central of Georgia depot sits to the left of the people gathered in the distance
