Spruce Creek. Here is the fifth of eight successive photos that I took in Spruce Creek, Pennsylvania, on 10 July 1965. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2539, #2517, #2234, and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #2539 and #2517 are GF-25's built by General Electric and rated at 2,500 horsepower each; the former was built in February of 1965, the latter in October of 1962. #2234 is an EF-22 built by GM-EMD in April of 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. In this context, they're rockin' 'n' rollin' with an eastbound TrucTrain heading for the Enola Yards. Wave to the Fireman! |
