PRR 2-8-0 #7010  Contributor's Pick!
As the only photo in the group with information on the back, it was interesting to read the unknown photographer's comment - "Way freight on bridge on south of Sunbury, Pa, on east side of River" - obviously the Susquehanna River. This was an H10s Consolidation built between 1913-16. No photographer credit was listed unfortunately. Sure knew a great spot to catch some action except for the telephone wires that look like scratches on a negative!

Dave Drake General This spot still exists as of this writing, spot is the junction of the former Sunbury & Lewistown Branch, track goes as far as Kreamer, PA today and ends. There is also a long section of track that use to feed coal trains to the PP&L Plant, that plant was recently converted to Natural Gas, so the fate of those tracks remains? 8/1/2018 11:39:59 PM
