PRR 5999, ES-6, 1964
4th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 23 September 1964. Shown here is PRR engine #5999, an ES-6 built by EMD in 1948 and rated at 600 horsepower. Its crew is shifting two cars into the Lithcote Plant for processing. Partly hidden are several passenger cars marshalled for reconditioning at the PRR's Passenger Car Shops behind them. Photo taken from the 4th Street Bridge.
