Built for the Chicago Milwaukee & St. Paul by ALCo-Schenectady in November of 1914, it started with the number 8175 but in 1938 renumbered to CMStP&P 735. After nearly 38 years of service, the loco was retired in June of 1952. It appears that this photo shows it in the dead line - note the bell is missing. Specs - L2 class, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26 x 30" cylinders, engine weight of 275,000 lb, tractive effort of 54,723 lb. No exact day in 1952 was listed.Fred Ziebe took this photo. |
