| Long before an EMD SW1200 unit wore the number MILW 613, this Alco-Brooks built 2-8-2 Mikado had the honor. Built in June of 1912 as CM&StP 1843 (serial #51422), it was renumbered CMStP&P 613 in 1938. The loco was eventually retired in May of 1951. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 277,800 lb, tractive effort of 54,723 lb. An unknown photographer took this photo. |
