Originally built as CM&StP 2-8-2 #8628 by Alco-Brooks in September of 1918, this "Mikado -heavy" was later renumbered MILW #335 as seen here. Unfortunately, with its bell and front number plate missing, it appears to be sitting in the scrap line at the Bensenville yard after being retired in February of 1953. No exact date or photographer was given for this photo. Specs - L3 Class, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine weight of 320,000 lb, tractive effort of 62,949 lb. |
