PC Samuel Rea Shop, 1972 |
Description: |
SRS. Here is an original telephoto view that I took at the Penn Central Railroad's Samuel Rea Shop in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, during March of 1972. Shown here (R to L) are PC engine #2436 and two GM-EMD units whose road numbers are not recorded. #2436 is a C425 built by the American Locomotive Company as Pennsylvania Railroad number "2436" in March of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. On the right are several double-door boxcars that have been marshalled for reconditioning in the Shop. In the foreground is a vintage derail device. Photo taken from the Jones Street crossing and entryway. |
