Title:  MILW 2-8-2 #649 - Milwaukee Road
Description:  With the Milwaukee Road stretching from Milwaukee west, it's no surprise that one would show up in Mitchell, SD. Built by by Alco-Brooks in November of 1912 as CM&StP #8130 (serial #52203), the loco was later renumbered in 1938 to 649. It lasted on the active roster until retirement in December of 1949. Specs - class L2-r3" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 277,800 lb, tractive effort of 54,723 lb. An unknown photographer took this photo.
